Privacy policy (GDPR)

Zones is designed to work locally. Your files never leave your computer: they are only moved/displayed in folders in your profile. Only license, updates and support use the network.

1. Data controller

Fortis Apps Studio (see legal notices for contact details).

2. Data processed

Purchase & activation: email address, technical identifier of the station (derived from the hardware), key, formula and license status.
Support (in-app or email): email address, subject and category, message content, any attached images, software version, operating system name and station ID.
Update check: the published version is consulted; no personal data is required.

The software does not carry out any advertising profiling and does not resell your data.

3. Anonymous audience measurement (without cookies)

This site measures its traffic to improve its content and ergonomics. This measurement is anonymous and works without any cookies: we do not store anything on your device and do not use Google Analytics, advertising tools or third-party tracking services.

Concretely, to distinguish visits without identifying you, an anonymous identifier is recalculated on the server side from a technical fingerprint (IP address + browser) transformed by a daily hash: your IP address is never recorded, and as the calculation key changes every day, it is impossible to track you from one day to the next.

The information retained is only: pages viewed, links and buttons clicked, scroll depth, consultation duration, original page (referrer), browser language, device type (computer / mobile / tablet) and country (approximate). No data allows you to be personally identified, none is resold or shared for marketing purposes.

Why no cookie banner? Because no information is read or written on your device, the consent requirement specific to cookies (article 82 of the Data Protection Act / ePrivacy directive) does not apply. The measure is based on the legitimate interest of the data controller (article 6.1.f of the GDPR) in knowing the use of its site, and the data is kept 90 days maximum before automatic deletion.

4. Purposes & legal bases

License, activation and updates management — contract execution.
Provision of support — performance of the contract / legitimate interest.
Compliance with legal obligations (accounting, tax).

5. Subcontractors & hosting

Data hosted by subcontractors within the meaning of Article 28 of the GDPR:

Cloudflare — license/support database and attachment storage;
Resend — sending emails (license key, support responses);
Stripe and, where applicable, PayPal — payment processing.

6. Transfers outside the European Union

Some of these providers (Cloudflare, Resend, Stripe, PayPal) may process data outside the EU, in particular in the United States. These transfers are governed by the mechanisms provided for by the GDPR (standard contractual clauses and/or EU-US data protection framework).

7. Shelf life

The data is kept for the time necessary for the purposes (duration of the contractual relationship for the license, reasonable duration after closure for support), then deleted or anonymized, subject to the applicable legal periods.

8. Your rights

You have a right of access, rectification, erasure, limitation, opposition and portability, as well as the right to lodge a complaint with the CNIL.
